Nigerian Movie Director Sentenced To 15 Years in Prison for Drug Possession in Malaysia

Capture2
A Nigerian movie director was sentenced to 15-years in prison after a Kuala Lumpur Court in Malaysia found him guilty of possession of 2.4kg of methamphetamines Thursday last week.
The 38 year old movie director, Ifeanyi Johnpaul Aguonu will also receive 10 strokes of the cane for the offence.
He is said to have committed the offence in March 2011.
The preceding High Court Justice Abdul Alim Abdullah expressed concern that many Nigerians had entered Malaysia with illegal drugs without any fear of the law.
“Our country has a strict rule when it comes to drugs; that the law provides a death penalty for drug trafficking.
“If you are convicted of a capital offence here, you could have been hung from the neck until you die,” said the judge before sentencing him.
“But you’ve been saved from the gallows because your counsel sent a representation and the Attorney-General Chambers agreed to give you an alternative charge.”
They say no place like home. Wetin carry am go younder?

Our Position On ‘Child Marriage’ – Islamic Organisation

(NAN) – The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), a Non Government Organisation, has called for tolerance on the controversy concerning child marriage.
MURIC’s Director, Ishaq Akintola, made the call in a statement issued on Wednesday in Ibadan.
The statement said that in conformity with the tenets of Islam, age was not part of the conditions which must be met before marriage could be solemnised.
It said that where the bride was a ‘minor’, Islam prescribes protective solemnisation of marriage to shield the bride from abuse.
“This means that the girl who is deemed to be of tender age is left untouched by the man until she attains puberty.
“Another major condition for child marriage is that the girl herself has the right to repudiate the marriage when she attains maturity if she does not like her spouse.
“MURIC believes that honourable and dignifying child marriage is better than child prostitution which is rampant in Nigerian cities and red light zones,’’ it said.
The statement compared the globalisation and promotion of homosexualism, lesbianism and same-sex marriage as a direct challenge to God’s divine order.
The Senate, on the recommendations of the Constitution Review Committee, rejected the deletion of the clause on renunciation of citizenship.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu, said that the clause was recommended for deletion because it was considered discriminatory.
He said the clause, which had been in the Constitution since 1979, had nothing to do with child marriage as was being insinuated by some Nigerians.

True Confession: I Have Not Had Sex For Ten Years – Genevieve Nnaji

I don’t know what to make of this and I am sure many of you out there will surely find this difficult to believe but Nollywood star actress and unarguably, the most popular actress in Africa, Genevieve Nnaji has come out with this stunning confession that for ten good years, she has not gone under the sheets to perform any naughty act with a man. Hmmm, so, you may ask, she has only been using her ‘thing’ to ‘piss’? Just as I find this confession of hers hard to cotton to, some ‘aprokos’ are telling me to ask her what she was doing with ‘No Long Thing’ crooner, Dapo Oyebanji aka D’Banj. Were they just staring at the ‘long thing’ or was the ‘thing’ not long enough? I shudder to think that D’Banj actually let her ‘hold body’ while he was just blowing songs for her. My dear Genny, do not let any of these nay-sayers pull you down. If you say you did not ‘do’ for ten years, who is there to test you? It is your prerogative but now that I hear you are getting set to say ‘I Do’, I am sure you will need to do a whole new ‘re-opening’ or may be I should say official ‘re-launching’. Whichever, I have got your back.

Sources say Braxton and Lewis remain really good friends.

The Man Who Tried To Poison Obama

Shortly after the days of the Boston Marathon tragedy, it was publicly announced that an apparent assassination attempt had been carried out on President Obama.

Obama-and-wife-300x197
Letters tainted with the deadly poison substance ricin were detected, and the search for the culprit was immediately commenced.
Investigators came across the phrase “I am KC and I approved this message” within the letter, and the link seemed obvious when the sending address was considered.
The Tupelo, MS address led them to a local Elvis impersonator named Kevin Curtis who was reported to use that catchphrase frequently.
But, as any experienced investigator knows, the link could not possibly be that easy.
Curtis was baffled by the accusations, and snippets of interviews played nationally left us confused as to whether Curtis was guilty as sin or truly as bewildered as he claimed.
The guy was a fountain spewing an endless stream of hilarious quotes, and he case turned bizarre as he spoke of a man he believed was framing him.
As the case unraveled Curtis seemed less and less crazy and evidence led investigators to a new suspect, J. Everett Dutschke, who appears cornered by the trail of facts.
The facts and timeline of the case can be hard to sort out, but that’s what we’re here for.
