JOHN TRAVOLTA REJECTS DENZEL'S ROLE IN FLIGHT

John Travolta's Jumbo Jet
John Travolta has been linked to a number of movies at one point or the other in his career however it doesn’t seem that streak would end soon as i recently learnt that the actor turned down a chance to play the lead role in 2012′s hit movie- Flight before it was passed on to Denzel Washington who performed so well in the execution of the role that he got an Oscar nod for Best Actor.
According to Indiewire, while at a British Film Institute event in London on Tuesday, Travolta revealed being approached before going on to give his reason for not committing to the project.
Hear what he had to say
"The funny thing was it was written for me. But it was not written well enough yet — the plane stuff, not the character… I loved that he was an alcoholic and I loved his journey a lot. But the plane stuff was silly, from my perspective. Flying upside down — it’s a bit much. I just wanted those bits to get redone. I asked the writer, ‘Did you not ask a professional or someone who knew something?’ And he said, ‘I didn’t want any interference — I just wanted the screenplay done. To hell with that stuff!"

While Travolta remains a splendid actor to watch on screen irrespective of the role, i can’t help but be glad that he let the role slide and Denzel took over instead. But hey that’s just my own thoughts on the matter, let’s know what you think.
