TIME Icon and actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde said in a recent interview with Encomium, that she inherited her physical endowment from her mother and how it’s been a struggle for her to stay slim as her job requires.

Omotola: There is no major secret. That’s the truth. Most of them were inherited. I inherited the good stuff, so also the bad one. If you see my mom’s picture, she actually looked like a young girl. Till she passed on, we used to call her forever young,even before that song came out.
My mom had a teenager look, even when she was almost 50. She was a very hippy and curvy woman. That, she passed on to me with vengeance. That’s why it has been a very big struggle for me to stay as slim as my job requires.
But people are saying you had done an implant that perhaps brought out you hips
Omotola: I have also heard that but there is nothing like that. I have never done any surgery or implant. It’s just me being extremely careful and conscious of my body, job and everything. Naturally, as a human being, sometimes i get it perfectly right, sometimes, the body just does what it wants to do. I just keep trying.

EIGHT CHANGES WE WANT TO SEE IN IOS 7 IPHONE

The World Wide Developer's Conference is next week, and preparations are already under way. While Apple is predictably tight-lipped about what exactly it will announce, it's all but certain we'll hear about an update for iOS 7. The question is, will the new features and tweaks be enough to keep people from jumping ship to other smartphones?

Probably the biggest rumors are about a newly redesigned look with flattened buttons and interface elements, and a move away from the skeuomorphic design aesthetic (think of the "leather-bound" Find My Friends app) of the core Apple apps. But with Android and Windows Phone 8 continuing to bring new OS innovations to the latest devices, a redesign alone won't be enough to keep Apple in the game.
What Apple needs to do in iOS 7 is play a little catchup with other devices to bring some of Android's and Windows Phone's best features to iPhones, then add new features to give people more flexibility with the apps already on the device. There's no way of knowing whether Apple has new killer features or apps up its sleeve, but I have some ideas for improving the OS now to make it more attractive for current iPhone users and people in the market for a new smartphone.

A fancy new interface is not enough
The Home Screen hasn't changed much since the first iPhone in 2007, so it's definitely a good idea to refresh the look overall. I think it's starting to get a little boring, and from what I've read around the tech sites and in my comment threads, I'm not alone.
Beyond the flattening of buttons and modernizing the look, iOS 7 needs to give users some flexibility. I think there should also be customization options or themes you can switch in and out at will. Imagine being able to pick your color scheme so your iPhone screen looks different from your friends' screens. Sure, strictly aesthetic changes are superficial, but even without my themes idea, a new look would go a long way.
Still, if the new redesign is the only big news for iOS at WWDC, I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed, myself included.

A new top tools screen
One of the most annoying things about iOS is digging through settings menus to do common tasks. Things like adjusting the brightness, toggling Bluetooth, and managing Wi-Fi connections require far too many taps. I think it needs an interface button (or slide-out menu) that brings these tools front and center. Not only that, but this new "top tools" screen needs to be customizable so you can add and remove the settings you use most. Some Android phones (depending on manufacturer) already have similar features, and all you need to do is swipe downward to get a bunch of quick tools for easy access. Apple desperately needs to make something similar for iPhones.

THE SENATE REFUSED FIRST LADY 4BNGN FOR FIRST LADIES MISSION

The Senate has rejected the N4bn appropriated for the construction of the First Ladies Mission in Africa.
The Mission is being headed by Nigeria’s First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan.
The amount was proposed in the estimate of the Federal Capital Territory’s, FCT, 2013 budget appropriation.
This was as the lawmakers appropriated N259.65bn with a surplus of N48.71bn for the FCT 2013 statutory budget.
This year’s budget is less than that of 2012 fiscal year, which was N306.41bn.
The senators described the financial allocation for the construction of the secretariat in Abuja as a misplaced priority.
The lawmakers said that the N4bn would be distributed for the provision of infrastructure and meet the pressing needs in satellite towns.
The senators also explained that they disapproved the allocation because the land upon which the proposed secretariat would be sited is currently under litigation.

The suspects who regularly milk their unsuspecting victims via the internet were arrested in different locations at Oluyole Estate extension, Ibadan, Oyo State. Items recovered from them include eight laptops, one mini-laptop, two Ipads; two Honda cars; a Toyota Camry and Toyota Venza cars. The suspects will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is concluded.

Dangote to site $8bn refinery in Olokola Free Trade Zone

Indications emerged on Wednesday that the $8bn refinery proposed by Africa's richest man and President, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, would be located at the Olokola Free Trade Zone, Ondo State.

 
A senior official of the company, who asked not to be named because he was not authorised to speak on the matter, told our correspondent that the refinery would be located in the OFTZ.
One of the factors considered for the location of the refinery, according to the source, is that it is the biggest deep seaport in the country and other big industries are located there; besides, Ondo is one of the oil producing states in the country.
The source added that stable crude oil supply was also a vital element in the choice of the location for the refinery because Chevron and a number of other oil producers had oil fields in the oil-rich region of the state.
On why Lagos was not chosen, industry analysts said though the state was a coastal state, Dangote would have to build pipelines to transfer crude from oil fields to the refinery, thereby incurring additional expenses.
The source explained that necessary approvals had been secured for the refinery, adding that the Dangote Group was just waiting for the necessary equipment with which to build the refinery to arrive.
Another source told our correspondent that Dangote, who was listed on Monday as the first African entrepreneur to lay claim to a $20bn fortune and one of the 25 richest men in the world, would put down $4bn of his personal fortune to build the refinery, while international financial institutions had raised the balance.
Dangote had in April announced plans to invest up to $8bn in building an oil refinery with capacity for around 400,000 barrels a day by late 2016.
The capacity, experts had said, would almost double Nigeria's current refining strength.
"This will really help not only Nigeria but sub-Saharan Africa. There has not been a new refinery for a long time in sub-Saharan Africa," Dangote had told Reuters in a telephone interview.
Nigeria currently has the capacity to produce some 445,000 barrels per day in four refineries, which operate well below that owing to decades of mismanagement and corruption in Africa's leading energy producer.

 Elijah Wood whom many people came to know from his days playing Frodo in the Peter Jackson adaptation of Lord Of The Rings, stars as a serial killer for IFC Midnight’s Maniac for his next gig and the poster has just been put out.

More weapons discovered

Security agents in Kano yesterday said they have uncovered more arms in a house where weapons were found hidden in a bunker last week.

Spokesman of 3 Brigade Nigerian Army Capt Ikedichi Iweha,said in a statement that the weapons were found buried in a cooler under a wardrobe in the house located at No 3 Gaya Road in Bompai area.

He said the hidden arms were unearthed during further search on the property by army and State Security Service (SSS) personnel.

Iweha said the weapons include “80 indicators, 5 PPK pistols, 334 rounds of 7.62mm special, 9 magazines, 4 pistol silencers, 18 hand grenades caps, 4 explosive fuses and 2 explosive devices.”

57-yr-old father rapes 14-yr-old daughter four times after giving her N200

A 14-year old Primary 5 pupil who lived alone with her father at Bishop Oluwole Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, has told the police at the Bar Beach Division, Victoria Island Lagos

that her father, Ikoro Nwafor John, 57, raped her four times between March and May 2013 after giving her N200 to go to school every day.

John was arrested by the police at the Bar Beach Division and arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate's Court, Lagos, on a one count charge of allegedly forcefully having unlawful and indecent carnal knowledge of a minor without her consent.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges, but the police prosecutor, Supol E.C. Ekuma opposed his oral bail on the ground that the offence the accused committed is not an ordinary one.
The presiding magistrate ordered the accused remanded in prison custody till 5 June, 2013 when his written bail application may be considered.
Narrating her ordeal in the hand of her father to the police in her statement, the little girl allegedly said: "after asking my mother that she should reunite me with my father, she brought me to my father in Lagos, from her sister's place in the eastern part of Nigeria where she dropped me after she separated from my father few years ago.
"I was happy to be reunited with my father. My father enrolled me in a primary school in Victoria Island, Lagos, and he was giving me N200 every day to go to school and each time I came back he would advise me not to allow men to deceive me and ruin my feature.
"But I was surprised that my father later started telling me that since my mother has divorced him, I would replace her as his wife and bear him a child.
I thought he was joking until one night he came into my room to give me N200 to go to school the following day and suddenly, he pounced on me, removed my pant and forcefully inserted his organ inside my private part. As I was screaming he started begging me not to shout because neighbours would hear.
"He did the same thing three more times to me, with a promise to buy me a car and take me to London for site seeing, but all to no avail."
She added that "when I told my mother when she came to check me how my father was abusing me sexually, she said that was not her business.
"When my father gave me another N200 and raped me, I told him he was a stupid father and he started beating me.
"I reported the matter to my head teacher who informed the police and he was arrested. I am begging the government to punish my father for defiling me."
In his defence, John allegedly denied the allegation, saying his daughter lied against him to enable her continue to follow her boyfriend.

TMZ reported yesterday that Michael Jackson’s daughter, the 15 year old Paris Jackson attempted to commit suicide in the early morning hours Wednesday.

She was quickly taken to hospital and is said to be doing okay now.
