WHERE DO WORLD SEXIEST PEOPLE LIVE?

World's sexiest nationalities: America votes

Too sexy for their shirts.
Travelers looking for eye candy on holiday can forget about Asia, Africa, Australasia and any of the Pacific islands.
A survey voted on by Americans has picked out British men and Colombian women as the world’s sexiest, with the top 10 nations on each list dominated by Europe and South America.
British men will be applauding Misstravel.com for finally putting some science behind what they’ve been proclaiming about themselves ever since Roger Moore strapped on a leather holster and destroyed female inhibition with a single eyebrow.
Others may be wondering how any man who goes lobster-red after five minutes in the sun while struggling to suppress his pendulous beer gut can still exude the kind of confidence normally reserved for athletes, Hollywood extras and Colombian women.
Colombian women, of course, have rightfully been heralded in the number one spot. We’re all much safer that way.
Of greater note perhaps are the also-rans. Irish men were voted second sexiest by the nearly 31,000 women who were polled. Brazilians came third, Swedes fourth and their fellow Americans fifth.
Italian men will be distraught at failing to make the list. Feel free to gesticulate wildly in the comments box below.
After Colombian women, the 13,000 American men voted for Brazilians in second spot, then Americans, Spanish and Russians.
Misstravel.com calls itself an “online dating site for travelers.” It hooks up wealthy frequent flyers with poor but attractive travel wannabes.
“We match generous travelers who hate to travel alone with attractive travelers who would love the opportunity to travel the world for free,” its website says.
This unabashed travel-for-companionship business model (it has an entire page dedicated to warding off escorts), does then offer a silver lining to any nationalities not represented in the survey: get rich, then you too can become “attractive.”

MAKING MONEY FROM YOUR TALENT

You Can Start Bead Making With N10,000 OR Less
starting up a bead making business does not really entail much. One should be interested in the act of bead making, not looking at the monetary gains at the initial stage. Outside showing interest, one has to be creative.
one can start the business at home in order to save the cost of getting a shop

"the equipment needed to start up the business include cutter, string and hooks of various colours, silver and gold accessories, beads of different qualities, colours and types, among others".
Depending on the quality of beads, a string of bead may cost about N300, and it does not mean that you are going to use that one string to make complete bead, the layers will determine that. In some cases, one can use two to four strands. Again too, one can get strand of beads that are up to N5, 000, these are coral beads of the higher qualities. There are also some other accessories (silver or gold) that will be needed to bring out the beauty in the design of the bead. Even with the low price, there are some gold and silver accessories which can hardly get tarnished. As to getting designs that will attract customers, creativity is the major player in this regard. Sometimes, when you get to know your clients, you could think of designs that are suitable to them, taking into cognisance their physical looks and what they like. You could also come up with a unique design from your imagination that is not common. Other sources of design ideas could come from fashion magazines, those designs may give you an idea of the kind of bead you want to make.

STEPS IN MAKING BEAD:
  1.  Gather your stringing materials. The best kinds are flexible beading wire and beading thread.
  2.  Before cutting your thread or wire, determine the length of your necklace and add 4-8 inches (10-20 cm), so that you have enough to connect the clasp to the stringing materials.
  3.  Gather 2 crimp beads, 1 clasp, and the beads for the desired necklace.
  4. Slide a tiny bead on the threading material, then the crimping bead, then another tiny bead about 1 inch (2.5 cm) or so do
  5.  Place one end of the clasp (the jump ring) on after the crimp bead and make a loop with the stringing material.
  6. Place the end of the stringing material through the clasp section and then the bead-crimp-bead combo and use the crimping tool/chain nose pliers to crimp the bead in place.
  •  If using bead thread, you may wish to put a dot of super glue of hypo cement on either end to ensure that the beads and crimp stay on.) These steps will protect the stringing material from rubbing on the ends of the crimp bead, which may cause the necklace to break
   7.    When you are satisfied, string them onto your necklace. Be sure to leave about 3-4 inches                (7.5-10 cm) of stringing material at the end
   8.     Use a clasp section/ jump ring and the bead-crimp-bead combo and try to push the
remaining stringing material into the bead holes below the crimp bead.
    9.     Crimp the second end and cut the stringing material with slush cutters. It is not
recommended that you cut the wire too close to the crimp bead. 1 inch (2.5 cm) of wire,
carefully hidden in the bead holes, is good insurance against breakage

Dolphins Help Save Dog from Drowning

On Marco Island, Florida a group of dolphins came to the aid of a lost Doberman that had fallen into a canal and couldn't get out. The dolphins made so much noise, it attracted the attention of people living nearby, who then rescued the dog. The Doberman was believed to have spent 15 hours in the canal water before he was pulled out by fire personnel and reunited with his owner.

One of the people whose attention was captured by the noisy, demonstrative dolphins said, "They were really putting up a ruckus, almost beaching themselves on the sandbar over there. If it wasn't for the dolphin, I would have never seen the dog.” (Source: ABC7news) He said also if the dolphins hadn't persisted enough to get their attention, they dog would have died in the canal. The dog had fallen over the edge of a concrete wall down into the water far enough that it had no chance of getting back up by itself. The dog was exhausted from being in the cold water for hours, and most likely suffering from hypothermia.

Dolphins have been known to sometimes help stranded or injured people as well. In 2007, a pod of dolphins formed a ring around a surfer who was injured and bleeding after being bitten by a Great White shark. The surfer survived because they prevented further bites. No one knows exactly why dolphins have intervened in such emergency situations, and helped save the lives of other species. Suffice to say they are capable of empathy and heroic actions.

If I’m Arrested, Nigeria Will Be History – Dokubo-Asari

Leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force,  Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, has dared the  House of Representatives and leaders of northern Nigeria to arrest him if they can.

Dokubo-Asari, who spoke with journalists on Wednesday evening in Abuja, said he stood by his words that there would  be no peace if Jonathan is not reelected in 2015.
He was responding to calls by members of the House, Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger State and northern leaders, saying the leaders were cowards if he was not arrested.
The former President of Ijaw Youth Council  also added that any attempt to arrest him would make Nigeria “a history”, asking why those calling for his arrest turned deaf ears when some northern leaders like former Military Head of State Maj.-Gen Mohamadu Buhari, Alhaji Lawal Kaita and a former member of the House of Representatives, Farouk Aliyu, among others.
He said, “I stand by my statement which I made in my early press conference. There will be no peace, not only in the Niger Delta, but everywhere, if Goodluck Jonathan is not president by 2015.
“I want to refresh your memories with comments made by these northerners, who had in the time past threatened war and break-up of Nigeria.
“In 2010, one Lawal Kaita said and I quote: ‘Anything short of a Northern President is tantamount to stealing our Presidency. Jonathan has to go and he will go. Even if he uses the incumbency power to get his nomination on the platform of the PDP, he would be frustrated out…The North is determined, if that happens, to make the country ungovernable for President Goodluck Jonathan or any other Southerner who finds his way to the seat of power on the platform of the PDP against the principle of the party’s zoning policy’.
“Today insurgent groups, in furtherance to Kaita’s call are wreaking havoc, attacking military barracks and seizing weapon, but we will not sit and watch. Kaita made this statement, nobody arrested or call for the arrest of this fellow,  today he is walking free.
“Buhari made this statement in 2011, he was never arrested and nobody ever called for his arrest. In other countries, former leaders are being tried, but here, a man who overthrew a legitimate government, continues to threaten us with blood and nothing has happened.”
He added, “I am not afraid of arrest. I am saying it bold and clear without mincing  words, that the consequences of my arrest, Nigeria will be history.
“The last time Obasanjo arrested me, my arrest reduced Nigeria oil production to 700,000 barrels per day.  This time, it will reduce it to zero barrel, and we will match violence with violence, intrigues with intrigues. We are ready for them. Goodluck Jonathan will complete his tenure of two terms, whether they like it or not.
“I am daring them to arrest me if they can. If they don’t, they are cowards and shame on them.”

Presidential Committee Meets Kabiru Sokoto, 39 Other Boko Haram Suspects

As part of its consultations with stakeholders in the country over the violence engineered by insurgents, the Presidential Committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of Security Challenges in the North on Thursday met with Kabiru Sokoto, the suspect in the Christmas Day bombing in Madalla, Niger State, and 39 others at the Kuje Minimum Security Prison.

photoAll the 25 members of the committee and their host, an Assistant Controller of Prisons, Nuhu Zuru, were present at the parley.
Chairman of the dialogue committee, Kabiru Turaki, told State House correspondents on the committee’s entourage after a three hour one-on-one meeting with the prisoners, alleged members of the Boko Haram, that the consultation was in line with its mission, which is to unearth more facts about the Jama’atul Ahlus Sunnah Lidda’awati Wal Jihad, otherwise known as Boko Haram.
According to Mr. Turaki, who is also the Minister of Special Duties, the committee, which commenced work on Monday, has met with different arms of the security agencies in the country including the State Security Service, SSS; Nigeria Police Force, NPF; and Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA.
He explained that the committee had, on Tuesday, interacted with the ONSA and a day after had parleyed with the SSS and the police, adding that this had provided them with opportunity of getting access to some of their detention facilities.
It was observed that many of the sectarians, including a seriously ill one who had to be carried to the venue, were young men between the ages of 20 and 30. It was also noticed that some had seized the opportunity to go back to class inside the prison as they were seen clutching notebooks, textbooks and pens.
Although Mr. Turaki said the sectarians had given the committee cooperation, he did not disclose what was discussed but said they were seeking ways to have constructive dialogue with Nigerians across the board as he appealed for understanding and prayers in order for them to succeed.

'We don't have monster in our blood,' says Ohio suspect's daughter

Castro's daughter doesn't want to see him

The story of the Ohio kidnap is taking a new turn. Here the suspect opinion about it all.
One of the daughters of an Ohio man accused of holding three women against their will for the better part of a decade said Thursday that pieces of her father's life she didn't understand are falling into place.
Angie Gregg recalled strange things she noticed over the years, such as how her father kept his house locked tight, or disappeared during dinner with no explanation.
He took forever to answer the door and never wanted to leave the house for more than a day. Sometimes when Gregg was over, he'd have the music turned up loud.
"I never suspected anything was going on, but the more I sit and dwell on it, I think of things that make a whole lot of sense now," she told CNN.
"It's all adding up, and I'm just disgusted; I'm horrified."
Gregg's father is Ariel Castro, who is in jail on kidnapping and rape charges in the case of three long-missing women.
Amanda Berry, 27; Georgina "Gina" DeJesus, 23; and Michelle Knight, 32 -- and a 6-year-old daughter born to Berry in captivity -- were found alive this week in Cleveland.
The women are believed to have been abducted years ago -- in 2002, 2003 and 2004 -- and held captive at Castro's home.
Gregg said that when she first heard the news about her father, she "just wanted to die."
"It was like everything crashed down, like I just wanted to melt into the floor," she said.
Gregg has no doubt in her mind that her father is guilty and says she has no problem cutting him out of her life: "I never want to see him again."
Asked what she wants people to know, she said she hopes they can understand her father's actions are not a reflection of her family.
"They're definitely not a reflection of myself or my children. We don't have monster in our blood," she said, describing what's happened to them as like a horror movie.
"It's like watching a bad movie ... only we're in it," she said. "We're, you know, the main characters."
Gregg said she never saw signs of the 6-year-old at her father's house, and that she never saw her with him.
But about two months ago, he showed her a picture in his cell phone.
Gregg asked who it was.
Her father told her that the girl was his girlfriend's child by somebody else.
"I figured at the most he had an illegitimate child out there, you know, and I would find out eventually," Gregg said.

Manchester United Names David Moyes As Manager

David Moyes has been appointed as manager of Manchester United on a six-year contract, the English Premier League champions said on Thursday.

Moyes, the current Everton manager, will take charge of United from July 1. He succeeds Alex Ferguson who is retiring this month after more than 26 years at United.
“We unanimously agreed on David Moyes,” said Ferguson, who announced his retirement on Wednesday after 26 years as United boss.
“David is a man of great integrity with a strong work ethic. I’ve admired his work for a long time and approached him as far back as 1998 to discuss the position of assistant manager here.
“There is no question he has all the qualities we expect of a manager at this club.”
Moyes, who will be introduced as United boss in “due course”, said it was “a great honour” to be appointed as the new manager of the Premier League champions.
“I am delighted that Sir Alex saw fit to recommend me for the job. I have great respect for everything he has done and for the football club.
“I know how hard it will be to follow the best manager ever, but the opportunity to manage Manchester United isn’t something that comes around very often and I’m really looking forward to taking up the post next season.”
Moyes also paid tribute to current club Everton and vowed to remain fully committed until the end of the season.
“I have had a terrific job at Everton, with a tremendous chairman and board of directors, and a great set of players. Between now and the end of the season, I will do everything in my power to make sure we finish as high as possible in the table.
“Everton’s fantastic fans have played a big part in making my years at Goodison so enjoyable and I thank them wholeheartedly for the support they have given me and the players. Everton will be close to me for the rest of my life.”
Everton said in a statement:  “The chairman, on behalf of the club, would like to place on record his thanks to David for the massive contribution he has made to Everton since his arrival in March 2002. He has been an outstanding manager.”
Moyes was installed as favourite to leave Everton for United following a rush of bets  over the weekend, even before speculation mounted about Ferguson’s retirement.
Ferguson, who stays at Old Trafford as a director and ambassador, has had a close relationship with his successor throughout his managerial career and considered appointing him as his assistant  when Moyes was in charge at Preston North End.

Imo police smash baby factory, nab impregnator, rescue 17 pregnant teenagers

Imo State Police Command recorded another success in its renewed fight against crime and criminals, following the bursting of child trafficking and baby factory syndicate in the state.
Disclosing this to newsmen Thursday evening, at the State Police Headquarters, Owerri, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohammed Katsina, said the Command has clamped down on illegal motherless babies homes, as well as rescued 17 pregnant teenagers.
According to the Imo police boss, one of the illegal homes, Ahamefula Motherless Babies Home, located in Umuaka, Njaba local council area, is allegedly owned by a middle aged woman simply identified as “Madam One Thousand”.
Mr. Katsina equally disclosed that during the police raid, no fewer than 11 minors, who were possibly waiting to be sold to prospective buyers, were rescued by the Command.
The bizarre aspect of the police finding was that a 23-year old boy, simply identified as Oyibo, was fingered as being responsible for impregnating the expectant girls, whose ages ranged between 14 and 17.
Apart from being in varying stages of pregnancy, the girls who equally looked malnourished and not properly catered for wept uncontrollably as they were paraded by the police in Owerri.
Some of the pregnant teens.

On how the Command burst the syndicate, the Commissioner explained that the illegal babies home was successfully raided by the “Ambush Squad” after a credible tip-off.
“The prime suspect is now at large. She was was producing pure water sachets as a decoy to deceive unsuspecting members of the public about what was really going on in the premises”, the Commissioner of Police recounted.
Continuing, Mr. Katsina said: “When the police invaded the tightly secured compound, 17 minors were seen holed up in different rooms in the large compound with some of their children playing around”.
The Imo police boss equally paraded the 55-year old security man, Mr. Uzoamaka Okoli, from Nempi, Oru West local government area of the state, employed by the fleeing owner of the babies home.
The 23-year old Oyibo, who was equally paraded by the Commissioner, has allegedly confessed to being responsible for all the pregnancies.

Arrest me if you can, Asari dares IG, Reps, others

asariABUJA – Angered by the arrest calls that trailed his comment, Monday, that peace will elude Nigeria if President Goodluck Jonathan is not returned in 2015, the Niger Delta frontline Activist and Leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari has dared the House of Representatives and the security agencies to arrest him if they can muster the courage to do so even as the former Governor of old Anambra state, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife opined that arrests should start with people who had made similar
comments in the past.
Asari who is the former President of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) also said that any attempt to arrest him will mark the end of Nigeria and called the authorities coward if eventually the threat of his arrest was not affected.
Speaking in a Press Conference in Abuja Thursday, Asari said he does not bat an eyelid over his previous comment on 2015, stressing that he stands by his words that there will be no peace in the country if Jonathan is not re-elected for a second term in office in 2015.
His words: “I stand by my statement which I made in my early press conference, there will be no peace, not only in the Niger Delta, but everywhere, if Goodluck Jonathan is not president by 2015, and I want to add that the Fulanis, who migrated and invaded our lands and continue to show disregard and disrespect to the owners of the country they came into, and people have tolerated them for a very long time will no longer continue.”

Mass failure: Reps summon JAMB Registrar

Speaking on the matter, Thursday, Chairman, House Committee on Education, Hon. Aminu Suleiman said that the summons became necessary due to series of complaints and protests by a cross section of Nigerians.

Reactions trailing the mass failure of candidates in this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination,UTME,have continued as the House of Representatives has summoned the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board,JAMB, Prof Dibu Ojerinde.
Although investigations showed that the failure had a lot to do with some of the candidates’ reliance on answers provided by fraudsters, other candidates have claimed that the use of computer affected their performance.
The result of the examination as released by JAMB showed many students scoring below 150, out of the 400 marks, with only 10 scoring above 300.
“We heard that JAMB authorities had formally explained some reasons for the mass failure.
“This is not enough if the content of the complaints of Nigerians is anything to go by. One of the complaints concerns the usage of computer for the exam that most of them had never had contact with before.
“It can be recalled that the House passed a resolution asking JAMB not to use computer for the 2013 exams and they said they would make it optional; but there were still complaints by candidates that some of them filled the manual or paper option only to find themselves being asked to write the exams using computers”, he said.
The lawmaker added that the mass failure might not be unconnected with the introduction of computers for the exams, bearing in mind that most candidates, especially from Government secondary schools were not exposed to computer before.
Accordingly, he said the committee was poised to finding a lasting solution to the perennial failure of Nigerians in the last JAMB examination.

Ombatse Traditionalists: Police Killed Our Nine Members Before We Killed 95 Of Them

A man who admits to be an Ombatse traditional religionist in Nassarawa State has told SaharaReporters their group killed 95 policemen today, nearly four times the 23 the police have admitted.
Earlier, Abayomi Akeremale, the State Police Commissioner, said, "The Ombatse gunmen opened fire on our men, killing 23 and burning them," Nassarawa state police chief said, adding that 17 officers remain missing.
Akeremale said the security forces decided to arrest some Ombatse leaders after they receive reports they were embarking on forced conversions in the village of Elakyo, near Lafia, the Nassarawa capital.
Speaking through an interpreter on the phone, the traditional religionist denied shooting at the policemen, saying his groupresponded only with machetes and knives, not bullets, and only after the police had killed nine of their members.
Denying that they have been committing force conversions in mosques and churches, he said the policemen arrived in 12 patrol trucks and opened fire on his group.
“We were in our place performing our rites, when our members alerted us that police may come for our father and leader,” he said.  “Suddenly that day, the armed police came with guns and we say what happened? They did not answer us but started spraying teargas on us and killed nine of our members. In return for self defence we killed 95 of them, we have no guns it was machetes that we used in defending ourselves and eventually killed them. There is nothing like gun attacks.”
On attacking mosques and churches, the sect member, first pointing out he has not been instructed to speak, denied the reports.
“We don’t do that,” he told our reporter.  “Our group is serious about morality, we are against liquor and don’t harbour it, no sleeping with men and no stealing. We are on our own seeking protection for our own people, and the police just entered us.”

Would you buy a Huawei smartphone?

Each month, CNN's Kristie Lu Stout sits down with three China experts to discuss what's really driving the world power and economic giant. This month's episode will focus on China's pollution problem.

Watch this video
Hong Kong (CNN) -- Quick question: Who is the world's third biggest smartphone maker?
BlackBerry? Guess again. HTC? Nope. It's Huawei.
Yes, it's a paltry 5% of the global market, but the Chinese company that made its name selling telecom equipment is making a big push into the already crowded global smartphone market.
I saw that ambition first hand at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year. Huawei ads were posted all over the airport to greet the throngs of international conference-goers. The company also occupied a huge booth at the venue positioned just across from Samsung.
But just how big does Huawei -- the smartphone maker -- want to get?
At company headquarters in Shenzhen in southern China, I talked to Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei's Consumer Business Group. He told me his division hopes to boost its mobile business revenue from $7.5 billion to $9 billion this year.

"Last year, we shipped out 32 million smartphones in quantity and this year we hope we will ship out 50 to 60 million smartphones worldwide," he said. "We are growing."
The market priority for Huawei's Consumer Business Group is China, followed by Europe and Japan. But -- when it comes to smartphones -- it's not ruling out the U.S. market despite the recent back and forth about Huawei's commitment there.
In the U.S., the name Huawei is widely regarded with suspicion. Lawmakers are worried that Huawei products can be used as a hidden channel for Chinese spies and cyber hackers -- a charge that Huawei has denied.
Despite the trust issues and the fact that many Americans can't even pronounce the name of the company, Huawei has sold and will continue to sell its phones in America under the Huawei brand.
"Gradually, step by step, more and more people will trust Huawei," said Yu. "I think with a brand, the most important thing is trust."
Huawei prides itself on its investment in research and development -- 70,000 of its 150,000 employees are in R&D -- as well as its high-end products like the $500 Ascend P2, which is billed as the "world's fastest 4G LTE smartphone."
Yu told me his personal favorite is the Ascend D2, Huawei's $600 flagship smartphone that is water-resistant -- a point famously made by Yu when he posted a photo of himself swimming with the smartphone on his Sina Weibo account.
But Huawei is more widely known for its $100 (Y-300) smartphone -- a cut-price device that Josh Ong of The Next Web says is the company's competitive advantage and branding bane.
"Huawei is going to be able to execute on smartphones at lower costs than some of its international competitors," he said.
"It doesn't have the cachet or consumer loyalty that Apple and Samsung do."
My colleague Dayu Zhang in Beijing offered this on-the-ground Chinese consumer perspective: "To me and my friends, Huawei is more like a brand of low-end, cheap smartphones.
"(Such) Chinese brands are popular among the 'ant tribe community,' which refers to young people who come to the city for a better job but got stuck with low-paid jobs and high costs to live in the city. In their eyes, these Chinese smartphones are a lot cheaper than big brands like the iPhone and almost as good."
Huawei has a reputation for making smartphones that are just good enough. But that's not good enough for Huawei.
To upgrade its image, the company says it will bypass expensive branding campaigns and splashy ads to focus on innovation to generate viral, word-of-mouth recommendations.
And that will take time.
"Rome was not built in a day," said Yu. "We have the ambition to be the best -- to have the best products and be the best solution provider."
Would you buy a Huawei smartphone? Perhaps, if that's what you're after. They're "good enough."
Would you want to buy one? Not yet.
And that's the question Huawei has its designs on,
