Kaffy, a talented dancer revealed this while she was addressing a group of youths at a programme held not too long ago.

The mother of two, also disclosed that she had to pay her way through school as she did not attend the conventional school that every other child attends because she had to wait for the regular school goers to close from school so that she could borrow their books and cover up but luck smiled on her when she made a record for herself and country at World Marathon Dance, by breaking the existing record for the Guinness Book of World Records through dance.

Android's two killer innovations since the iPhone 5 launch

It's been 229 days since Apple announced the iPhone 5 and iOS 6. In Silicon Valley time, that's roughly a millennium.

And we're unlikely to see major updates to the iPhone, iOS or any other major Apple products until this fall, based on CEO Tim Cook's comments during the company's latest earnings call.

Meanwhile, Android has lengthened its stride. 

I'm not talking about the Samsung Galaxy S4 with its flurry of software features, or the HTC One with its amazing hardware design. I'm talking about the killer feature in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as well as the latest version of the one killer app on Android that you can't get on iOS. 

Here's why those two big leapfrog innovations matter

1. Google Now: The killer feature

We first saw Google Now last June when Hugo Barra demoed Android 4.1 "Jelly Bean" at Google I/O. While the demo had its share of whizbang-ness, it wasn't something that looked like a game-changer. It even appeared a bit gimmicky. But, with a steady stream of software improvements and the fact it's stunningly useful once it's activated and starts doing its thing, Google Now emerged as one of Android's biggest advantages over the iPhone.

As I noted earlier this year, Google Now has given us one of the great "Ah, ha!" moments in tech in recent memory. It automatically alerts you when you need to leave for a meeting based on current traffic conditions, or warns you that your flight has been delayed, or reminds you that one of your favorite teams is playing tonight, or has navigation directions ready for you on that restaurant you just searched for — and it does all of this without you even having to configure anything. It's truly a big data moment, and although Google has indicated that it would like to bring Google Now to iOS, for now it's only available on Android and the iOS version will obviously never have the same deep integration. One of the things that makes Google Now so great is that it goes hand-in-hand with Android's other killer feature: notifications.

Mum forces daughter, 14, to become pregnant with sperm bought on web

A UK MOTHER forced her 14-year-old daughter to become pregnant with sperm bought over the internet after she was prevented from adopting any more children. 

 

The daughter, a virgin, gave birth after two years of regularly inseminating herself with the sperm because she was too scared to refuse her “domineering” mother, The Guardian has reported. The adoptive mother, who cannot be named for fear of identifying her daughter and grandchild is now serving a five-year prison sentence after admitting child cruelty.
Details of the shocking case became public after permission was granted to report a previously secret court judgement.
In his judgement Family division judge Mr Justice Jackson described “an abiding sense of disbelief that a parent could behave in such a wicked and selfish way towards a vulnerable child.”
The mother had adopted three children as babies from abroad.
She had chosen never to give birth herself because of a health condition and had undergone a sterilisation.

POLYTECHNICS EMBARK ON AN INDEFINITE STRIKE

THE Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, has commenced an indefinite strike, following failure of the federal and state governments to implement agreements on issues affecting polytechnic education in the country.
The indefinite strike declared, Sunday, by the union, followed end of a seven-day warning strike which ended weekend.
Some of the issues in contention are non-migration of members at the lower cadres on CONTISS 15 salary scale; release of white paper on the visitation panel to federal polytechnics; non-commencement of needs assessment of Nigerian polytechnics; worrisome state of state-owned polytechnics/monotechnics; and continued appointment of unqualified persons as rectors by some state governments.
Others include failure of most state governments to implement approved salary packages (CONPCASS) for polytechnics and 65 years retirement age; continued recognition of the NBTE as a regulatory body for Nigerian polytechnics against the creation of a national polytechnics commission; and the snail speed associated with the amendment of the Federal Polytechnics Act, amongst others.
National President of ASUP, Mr Chibuzor Asomugha, told Vanguard, Sunday, that the indefinite strike had become inevitable because the meeting the union had with Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, on the issues yielded no positive results.
He said the strike would be called off only when governments addressed all issues raised by the union, and urged all polytechnics across the country to abide by the directive to embark on strike.

Bomb Explosions, Intense Gunfight Between Boko Haram & Nigerian Troops In Jigawa

Residents  of Ringim township in Jigawa State said they have experienced intense gun fight between suspected members of Boko Haram and Nigerian troops after some 30 bombs were exploded by militants that invaded the town.
A security source told SaharaReporters that several militants invaded the township with bombs and rocket propelled grenades. The attack in Jigawa marks further escalation and expansion of the sects armed insurrection in northern parts of Nigeria.
A caller said the gunfight has continued into the night stating that the gunmen have now taken over the home of former Inspector general of Police, Hafiz Ringim and the police station in the township is currently under attack.
 Former Inspector General of the Nigerian Police, Ringim fled to the UK recently and sought political asylum claiming members of the deadly sect are after his life.

 "Leave Former Ministers Alone, Probe Me Instead", were the words of former president of Nigeria Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who made this known at the 50th birthday thanksgiving of former minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili in Abuja. He said he is ready to account for his stewardship.
He said if the present government finds anything wrong with his administration, he would bear the responsibility.

The former President was reacting to the recent moves to probe Mrs Ezekwesili by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and challenge thrown to the former World Bank VP by the presidency to account for her tenure as Minister of Education.

He said, “I have always said this, whatever you want to blame in my government, blame me, don’t blame any of those people who assisted me. If there is any credit to dispense we share it.
“But for anything you want to say is wrong, I was the one in charge and I was in charge.”
The former head of state also criticised the establishment of an agency to protect oil pipelines and described it as corruption in governance.
