STRANDED BOKO HARAM MILITANTS TURNED CANNIBALS

Dozens of suspected Boko Haram militants in Magumeri forest, Borno, have turned to human eaters after being stranded for days without food or water.

Magumeri forest is about 150 kilometres from Maiduguri, the state capital. Mallam Momodu Bukar, a suspected militant, told newsmen yesterday in Maiduguri that he fled the camp at the forest on Thursday when it became obvious that he was going to be eaten.

“I thank God that I escaped because I would have been slaughtered by now to provide meal for my colleagues at the camp,’’ Bukar said. The suspected militant was captured by a youth vigilance group, popularly known as the civilian JTF at Baga Road motor park, Maiduguri, on Friday.

Police: 8-year old intentionally kills his grandmother

Investigators believe an 8-year-old boy intentionally shot and killed his 90-year-old grandmother on Thursday evening after playing a violent video game.

The woman, Marie Smothers, was pronounced dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to the head in a mobile home park in Slaughter, Louisiana, the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office said in a statement. Slaughter is about 20 miles north of Baton Rouge.

The boy initially told investigators he accidentally shot his grandmother while playing with a gun, but after further investigation officials determined it was a homicide.

The boy won't face charges. Under Louisiana law, a child under 10 is exempt from criminal responsibility.

Before the incident Smothers had been watching TV in the living room while the boy played a video game in which players shoot people.

PASTOR IMPREGNATES CHURCH MEMBER AND SELLS BABY

Judgment Day seems to have come for a pastor, Emmanuel Onu as he has been arrested by the Imo State Police Command for allegedly conniving with others to sell his girlfriend’s baby for N100,000.

Pastor Onu had told the mother of the baby that her baby died at Ajiwe Street, Aba in Abia State.

The Imo state Commissioner of   Police, Mr. Mohammed Katsina told Sunday Sun that the pastor who hails from Umunwada  Onitcha  in Ezinihitte  Mbaise Local Government Area of  Imo State and who resided at Avutu  Obowo  impregnated his church member who was also his girlfriend, one Nkeiru Chukwuemeka.

Nkeiru was said to be in labour pains when Pastor Onu called another lady friend (Precious Adiele) who then introduced to them a hospital called Angel of Mercy Hospital at 19 Ajiwe Street Aba, Abia State.

SUPER EAGLES ' COACH STARTS WRISTWATCH BUSINESS

Some Super Eagles players have accused one of the coaches of the national team of extorting money from players through his wristwatch business.
 Our correspondent learnt that the coach would buy the wristwatches at cheap prices in Europe, only to sell them at ridiculous rates for the players.
According to the players, they became enemies of the said coach if they refused to buy the wristwatches from him.
“The coach buys the wristwatches between $500 and $1000 in Europe and forces us to buy them for $10000. If you don’t buy, you are regarded as an enemy,” one of the senior players of the national team, who pleaded anonymity, told our correspondent.
