Police Kill 4 Cultists, Arrest 6 Others In Delta

Police Anti-Robbery Detectives operating in Asaba, yesterday, killed four suspected armed robbery kingpins and leaders of a secret cult group terrorising land developers in Asaba metropolis and Ibusa.
The Police Commissioner in the state, Mr Ikechukwu Aduba, confirmed that the gang members were raiding building sites and robbing helplesscitizens of their valuables when the detectives, acting on a tip-off, swooped on them and added that in the ensuing shoot out, four of the gang memberswere killed while six others were arrested.
The Police boss said that activities of the group came to the end lastSaturday when a victim of the gang’s several robberies escaped andreported the matter to the Police who later swung into action.
According to him, the victim narrated how she was at her building sitewith two others when the hoodlums, led by one Ndubuisi armed with gunsand cutlasses, appeared in a commando like style and beat her up, robbedher of N25, 000 while her site engineer, one Saliu Idris, was also given severe beating and was robbed of N6, 000 and handset at gun point.
The Police Commissioner noted that the hoodlums on interrogation, confessed to be members of Ake Secret cult who have been operating in Asaba and its environs.
