How To Prevent Memory Loss

Ever been a situation where forget stuffs to be done or said? "This was what i wanted to write down in the exam but it was all fog up there, damn!!  why couldn't I remember" Ever been in such a situation? Let's work together to prevent MEMORY LOSS

It’s common to experience a little brain fog as we age, but much like muscles, the more exercise you give your brain, the stronger it will be. And you don't need any crazy products or regiments to stay sharp: these simple lifestyle tips can keep your brain young for years.

Practice brain games, crossword puzzles, and memory exercises that stress verbal skills.

Enrich your diet with plenty of omega-3 fats, low-glycemic index carbohydrates (e.g., whole grains) and antioxidants. And consider eating several smaller meals throughout the day. Eating five small meals prevents dips in blood glucose levels, and glucose is the primary energy source for the brain.

Take brisk walks each day and do stretching exercises. Increased cardio can make your brain actually grow, with more white matter and more neuron connections.

Stretching and relaxation exercises help keep anxiety in check. Stress causes the body to release cortisol, and cortisol has been found to shrink the memory centers in the brain, which results in impaired memory. Meditation has also been proven to substantially improve memory

Iron helps the neurotransmitters essential to memory function properly—and your body may be sensitive to low amounts. In one study, women low in iron missed twice as many memory questions as women with adequate levels.

Now this is unbelievable, but it does work.
Listening to the news while you read a magazine will impair your ability to recall either later. When you attend to multiple tasks, the brain switches processing to another region that retains fewer details. Focus on one task at a time to keep a perfect recollection of each one.

The plaque buildup caused by high cholesterol doesn’t only damage the veins of your heart: blockage of the blood vessels in your brain can deprive it of valuable nutrients, and cue memory problems. And it doesn’t take much plaque to block the tiny vessels; so check your cholesterol levels regularly.

Many prescription drugs can affect your memory, and the older you are, the longer drugs stay in your system. Drugs that can cause memory lapses include antidepressants, anti-anxiety drugs, beta-blockers, chemotherapy, Parkinson’s drugs, sleeping pills, painkillers, antihistamines, and statins.

THE POWER OF APPLE
… to keep the neurologist away. Apples have enough antioxidants to raise acetylcholine, which is an essential neurotransmitter for memory. The same antioxidants can also protect your brain from harmful free radicals.

Red wine contains the compound resveratrol, which may help ward off Alzheimer’s disease. Its ability to lower cholesterol levels also helps prevent that plaque buildup in your entire body, including your brain.(N.B. Be sure to buy the original red wine not adulterated and fake wines)

Nigerian women lead in skin bleaching – WHO

Nigeria women can overdo. However they have attained world record in Body Bleaching. HURRAY!!

The World Health Organisation, WHO, has said 77 percent of women in Nigeria use skin-lightening products, the world’s highest percentage. The figure compares with 59 percent in Togo, and 27 percent in Senegal.
The WHO report said the reasons for this are varied but most people said they use skin-lighteners because they want “white skin”.
WHO also said skin bleaching comes with hazardous health consequences. The dangers associated with the use of toxic compounds for skin bleaching include, blood cancers such as leukemia and cancers of the liver and kidneys, as well as severe skin conditions. It said hardcore bleachers use illegal ointments containing toxins like mercury, a metal that blocks production of melanin, which gives the skin its colour, but can also be toxic.
The report said in many parts of Africa, lighter-skinned women are considered more beautiful and believed to be more successful and likely to find marriage. It also said it is not only women who are obsessed with bleaching their skins. Some men too are involved in the practice.
* In extreme cases of skin bleaching, the skin can become multi-coloured and marred with inflammation or scarring.

WHO investigation said lightening creams are not effectively regulated in Nigeria where even roadside vendors sell tubes and plastic bags of powders and ointments from cardboard boxes stacked along sidewalks in market districts. Many of the tubes are unlabelled as to their actual ingredients.
Qatar based Al Jazeera also reported that business is booming for shops selling skin-lightening products. A trader said, “About 90 percent of my clients come asking for skin whitening products,” adding “I sell it to them and give advice on what product is best for them and how to use them.”

WOMEN WHO ARE LIKELY TO CHEAT

Many men married ask this question, "Hope my wife won't cheat on me", " How do i know if my wife is not cheating on me or won't cheat on me".
Here are some hints to enlighten you men.
And women are you among the list?

The relationship may be platonic at the beginning, but chances are, it won't stay that way. The closer the woman is to her platonic male friend, the more likely it is that he will eventually end up becoming her lover – unless he's gay.

Mobile number portability will engender competition among operators – NCC

The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, said it introduced the Mobile Number Portability, simply referred to as "porting", into the telecoms industry in order to create healthy competition among the operators.
Mobile number portability will engender competition among operators – NCC

Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Dr. Eugene Juwah, disclosed this at the 73rd edition of the Telecoms Consumer Parliament held at the Bridge Waters Hotels, Enugu.
Juwah said consumers of telecoms services were desirous of getting value for their money, adding that it was the duty of the commission to protect consumers from abuses by the service providers.
He continued that the NCC had in line with this, introduced porting as one of such measured which would to a large extent enhance quality network and force operators to lower their tariff.
According to him, "Mobile Number Portability will provide consumers with the option of choosing their network at any time while retaining their number.
"It will give rise to healthy competition in the industry, enhance quality of service and improve customer service delivery to the consumers.
"It will provide consumers with unfettered choice and remove the trouble of having to move around with multiple cell phones".
"Mobile Number Portability will eliminate the associated cost of updating business contacts, marketing, notifying family members and associates", he added.
The NCC boss expressed optimism that porting would considerably bring down tariff charges in view of the competition it would engender among operators, stressing that "it will further expand the market place and make the deployment of new and enhanced telecom services faster and more cost effective".
On the procedure for porting, he explained that "porting subscribers must register their SIM cards before they can port. Without the registration, the network operators would not be able to identify a porting subscriber or confirm that such is the rightful owner of the number being ported".
Juwa equally disclosed that a subscriber must be physically present before the operator would allow the porting process, which would take a maximum of 48 hours.
Most of the parliamentarians who spoke at the forum, urged the NCC to address the issue of inter-connectivity rate, to make porting meaningful.
The Mobile Number Portability, which took off on the 22nd day of April, 2013, allows a telecoms subscriber to migrate from one network to another within a period of 90 days without losing the original mobile number
