"Why a woman SO successful at her age, is still so INSECURE, and bitter," Minaj Tweeted this afternoon, going on to reference the rumor that Fox was looking to replace Mariah with Jennifer Lopez.
"All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin? Lol. I guess having a personality, being a secure woman, and giving genuine critique still trumps that."
Ooohh, snaps yo!
We'd say this is more contrived ratings bait... but continuing the show's continual decline in popularity, that seems hard to believe.

Microsoft Mohoro: Want to run your desktop from the cloud?

When I think "desktop," I think, well, desktop: My operating system, desktop interface, and applications all resident on the PC or laptop in front of me. Now, Microsoft, which has been having trouble lately getting anyone to use their new desktop, Windows 8, wants you to move to a cloud-based Windows desktop, Mohoro? Would you? Should you?

What Microsoft appears to be doing isn't just letting you run Windows applications remotely, ala Office 365, but enabling you  to run a full Windows desktop from a Microsoft Azure cloud. The technology to deliver "Windows desktop as a service" is really quite old and many companies have been using variations of it since the late 90s.

 Summary: It appears as if Microsoft will be making the Windows "desktop" available via its Azure cloud software. Would you "buy" a cloud-based desktop?
 Historically the problem has been that there's not enough Internet bandwidth to widely support a fat-client desktop.

Citrix first created a remote Windows desktop in 1995 under the name WinFrame. Two years later, Microsoft cross-licensed the code and together they produced the Windows NT 4.0 variant, Windows Terminal Server Edition. Today, the descendant of that product, Windows Server 2012 Remote Desktop Services (RDS), lives on and is used by many enterprises to deliver Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Windows desktops over their local area networks.

Mother slashes daughter with blade for wasting N100

Angry residents of Ono-Odan Street, Ijanikin, Lagos, nearly lynched a mother, Kudirat Abiola, for cutting her nine-year-old daughter, Precious, with razor blade. Kudirat made deep cuts on Precious's back, left leg and right arm with the blade to "teach her a lesson."

Newsmen leant that Kudirat decided to punish her daughter after she wasted N100 given to her by her father on junk food. A resident, who pleaded anonymity, told newsmen on Tuesday that neighbours were furious after seeing the damage on Precious, adding that the incident was one of many brutalities perpetrated by Kudirat, a mother of two and a trader.
He said, "We wanted to take her to the police, but Precious pleaded for her. The residents nevertheless searched for Kudirat, but she could not be found.
Precious' father, Dayo, is a customs officer. A resident, Fasai Sunmonu, said Precious' father was not always at home because of the nature of his work.
It was learnt that Precious, a primary six student of Marvellous Nursery and Primary School, Sele, Ijanikin, had on Monday shown her wounds to a friend, Mosaki Rachel.
Rachel said, "Precious told me that her father gave her N100 on Sunday and she spent it. But she did not know that her mother had cooked rice at home. When Precious's mother found out, she beat her first, then used blade to cut her body. When I saw the wounds, I took her to my uncle, Fasai, who has hydrogen peroxide, for treatment."

HP Nigeria Launches Elitepad 900

Hewlett Packard (HP), one of the leaders in the PC and mobile technology industry, has unveiled its latest innovation in mobile technology, the HP Elitepad 900.

A business tablet powered by Intel Atom processors, according to HP, “the new device promises to ease workload by providing support for existing business application.

“The Elitepad 900 has the capacity to be tailored to suit industry-specific software and hardware options, for optimal performance,” the company said.
Some of the features listed at the launch includes true-to-life video meetings, digital dual array microphone with SRS audio, camera and flash with 8.0 megapixels of vivid details in photo’s or video.

Other features include top security for data protection on lost devices, as well as integration services that makes for easy deployment of the Elitepad across a worldwide enterprise.

Speaking at the launch, Channel Sales Manager, West Africa, Morakinyo Ipoola, said: “The new HP Elitepad is a smart and secure Intel-powered operating system device, with a top notch technology and rugged exterior that is built to last, and is effective for transforming businesses.”

"JUMP JUMP" KRIS KROSS IN THE 90S

A sad day for hip-hop fans and the one time renowned hip hop group.
Chris Kelly, who along with fellow rapper Chris Smith made up the 1990s teen rap duo Kris Kross, died tonight after being found unresponsive at his home in Atlanta, E! News confirms. He was 34.
He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 5 p.m. According to the Fulton County Medical Examiner, an autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow and this is an ongoing investigation.

Kriss Kross' Chris Kelly and Chris Smith reunited in February for a 20th anniversary concert for So So Def Records.

Kelly was the "Mac Daddy" half of Kris Kross to Smith's "Daddy Mac," both of which monikers they name-checked in their biggest hit, the catchy 1992 tune "Jump."
The pair, who were also known for wearing their baggy hip-hop threads backwards, were just 13 when they were discovered in their native Atlanta by Jermaine Dupri. Their debut album, Totally Krossed Out, sold more than 4 million copies in the U.S.
Other big singles included "Warm It Up" and "I Missed the Bus," and they also recorded the "Rugrats Rap" for Nickelodeon in 1994.
Dupri had arranged for Kelly and Smith to reunite at the 20th-anniversary celebration for his So So Def Recordings back in February.

Apple remains tablet king, but Samsung climbs

Apple comes in at No. 1 in the world's tablet market, but the share of No. 2 device maker Samsung grows quickly.

The tablet market has grown by more than 140 percent over the course of a year, with Apple continuing to reign as the No. 1 provider of tablets, according to a report published Wednesday by IDC.
That means Apple shipped 19.5 million of the 49.2 million tablets shipped worldwide during this past three-month quarter. Samsung, in comparison, shipped 8.8 million tablets, but it's a figure that's grown more than 280 percent since last year. Asus shipped 2.7 million tablets, thanks to the Nexus 7, and Kindle maker Amazon shipped 1.8 million tablets. Microsoft landed among the top five tablet vendors for the first time with its Surface PT and Surface Pro tablets. It shipped a total of 900,000 tablets.

IDC analysts attribute the growth of the tablet market overall to consumers' fondness for smaller screens.
"Sustained demand for the iPad Mini and increasingly strong commercial shipments led to a better-than-expected first quarter for Apple," Tom Mainelli, research director for tablets at IDC, said in a statement. "In addition, by moving the iPad launch to the fourth quarter of 2012, Apple seems to have avoided the typical first-quarter slowdown that traditionally occurred when consumers held off buying in January and February in anticipation of a new product launch in March."

The twosome held the posh ceremony in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle after a horse-drawn Crystal Carriage ride down Main Street (the park was closed to the public for the occasion).The Royal Footman from Cinderella, Major Domo, served as Master of Ceremonies for the evening and afterwards the approximately 250 guests raised a glass to Mariah and Nick at a champagne toast and reception at Fantasyland.

The family said this in a statement on Tuesday. The statement signed by the family representative, Deji Adetayo, stated that although the singer did not leave a will, she had had an agreement with her husband, Leonard Harvey to auction her remaining items.
