Jonathan appoints Nnamani, Okiro, to new positions




http://www.ipaidabribenaija.com/media/k2/items/cache/517ef86e48b17f339cfbe605116feda1_L.jpgThe Nigeria President, Goodluck Jonathan, on Wednesday, nominated the former Inspector General of Police, Mike Okiro, as the new head of the Police Service Commission. His nomination was announced in a
letter sent to the Senate for the confirmation. The President appointed Mr Okiro as chairman of the police service commission, ahead of Otive Igbuzor. Other members of the police commission include Yakubu Mohammed, Olufunke Adekeye, Aisha Tukur, Comfort Obi, Tonrgee Toranyiin and Mr. Igbuzor.
In the string of new appointments sent in for senate's approval, the President also requested lawmakers approve the nomination of former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, who was previously a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to be appointed the new Chairman of the Board of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission.
Mr. Nnamani is to lead Aminu Dikko (the commission's director general), Comfort Saro Wiwa, Janet Adeyemi, Yabawa Wabi, Musa Elayo, and A.U. Kanu on the Infrastructure board.
Furthermore, the President has also requested Mr. Emmanuel Adegboyega Aremo be nominated as the Secretary of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
