Muhammed Abubakar, the
Inspector-General of Police (IGP), ‘arrested’ Chief Nyesom Wike, the Minister
of State, Education Wednesday in Abuja inside the Presidential Villa’s Council
Chambers.
This happened moments before Federal
Executive Council meeting commenced. The ‘arrest’ is said to be just one of the
big men’s chitchats that always take place before such meetings begin.
As soon as the minister of State,
Education arrived for the meeting, he grabbed the IGP from behind. The
Inspector General turned to see who would grab his uniform that is adorned with
medals, and declared, “You are under arrest!”
The minister quickly stretched his
hands and asked the police boss to handcuff him. He was dragged into the
chamber’s tea room for ‘interrogation’. A few minutes later, the two returned
to the chambers laughing. I bet the minister was granted bail on self
acknowledgment…
