Five years ago, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon
surprised everyone by getting married in the Bahamas. On Tuesday, the couple
celebrated their fifth anniversary with a fairytale ceremony at the Happiest Place on
Earth. Nick Cannon went all out for the special occasion, shutting down Disneyland for his wife and children.
Over 150 guests including Jermaine Dupri, Da Brat,
and songwriter Diane Warren arrived to watch the couple renew their vows in
front of Sleeping
Beauty Castle.
The pop diva arrived fashionably late in a horse-drawn pumpkin-shaped carriage
with her daughter Monroe, and met her Prince Charming, who was waiting with
their son Moroccan.
The couple was accompanied by their adorable twins
Monroe and Morrocan, who were dressed in
matching prince and princess costumes as mommy and daddy and also just so
happened to be turning two the same day Nick and Mariah renewed their wedding
vows.
The twosome held the posh ceremony in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle
after a horse-drawn Crystal Carriage ride down Main Street (the park was closed
to the public for the occasion). The Royal Footman from Cinderella, Major Domo,
served as Master of Ceremonies for the evening and afterwards the approximately
250 guests raised a glass to Mariah and Nick at a champagne toast and reception
at Fantasyland.
Cannon subsequently served as DJ for the
anniversary party, which, of course, featured a who's who of Disney characters
such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse. While guests were able to roam the park freely
without the usual crowds and ride the Matterhorn Bobsleds rollercoaster, Peter
Pan and other attractions.
Earlier in the day, they celebrated the second
birthday of Dem Babies at the amusement park.
Eat your heart out, Cinderella!
